A group of preschoolers from FAU's Karen Slattery Center for Child Development advocated for peace on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
The group of 4 year olds is learning about global peace at FAU's Slattery Center for Child Development.
A group of 4-year-old students from Ď㽶´«Ă˝â€™s Karen Slattery Educational Research Center for Child Development advocated for peace on FAU’s Free Speech Lawn.
The children held up signs and handed out cards they designed with a variety of messages about promoting peace in the world. The preschoolers also interviewed FAU college students and faculty about their beliefs on peace and compared responses with their own. A “Peace Table” was used to encourage people to resolve conflicts through peaceful communication with each other.
The event was part of the curriculum at Slattery, where the 4 year olds are currently learning about global peace. Last year, children from the center advocated on behalf of animal rights.
The hashtag #PreschoolersForPeace also was used to further promote the 4-year-olds’ peace activities throughout all of social media.
